Liz Flynn – ‘Going Local’ Tour
Riding on the success of her highly commended debut album ‘Hush’, for which she received an Arts Queensland Grant, Liz has received yet another arts grant to take her heartfelt, rootsy folk-pop to metropolitan and regional areas of Queensland (please see below for full tour dates and details).
Accompanied by double bass player Michelle Whelan, who has performed with artists such as Deborah Conway and Hugh Jackman, Liz is looking particularly forward to this tour; “Michelle is an awesome bass player and because of her experience in improvisation, we have developed a style of folk-pop where the songs are interpreted differently each time we perform”.
The duo’s list of performances will include an appearance at the famous Gladstone Harbour Festival alongside the likes of John English, Vince Jones and Ross Wilson. The Gladstone Harbour Festival now attracts an audience of over 70000 people annually, and is considered one of the largest festivals in Australia.. *Click here for full Press Release (.pdf)*
“Her angelic vocals and heart-felt subject matter left no dry eye in the house”
